Why this list? We must remember that human life in this age is fragile and finite. We must remember that human life in this age is fragile and finite. 13 Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” 14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15 Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” 16 As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil. 17 Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn’t do it, sins. - James 4:13-1713 Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” 14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. 21 If we do not know what will happen tomorrow, then how can we know what will happen in all of 2008?If we do not know what will happen tomorrow, then how can we know what will happen in all of 2008? Think about this one…Think about this one… 2008 is One Day 365 !!!2008 is One Day 365 !!! The relationship of one day to the next is not simply linear – it is exponential. The relationship of one day to the next is not simply linear – it is exponential. “Any chain is only as strong as its weakest link.”“Any chain is only as strong as its weakest link.”

Why this list? Human life, on this side of the grave, is a one way march.Human life, on this side of the grave, is a one way march. 7 Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, 28 so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. – Hebrews 9:27.7 Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, 28 so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. – Hebrews 9:27.

Why this list? We need to engage the world! We need to share with them our “new life in Christ.”We need to engage the world! We need to share with them our “new life in Christ.” 15 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. – Ephesians 5:15-16.15 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. – Ephesians 5:15-16. Jesus was called “the friend of sinners”!Jesus was called “the friend of sinners”! John 17:11 – We are “in the world.”John 17:11 – We are “in the world.” John 17:14, 16 – We are not “of the world.”John 17:14, 16 – We are not “of the world.” John 17:18 – Jesus sent us “into the world.”John 17:18 – Jesus sent us “into the world.”

16 In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. – Matthew 5:16

All Things New We are new individuals in Christ - 2 Cor. 5:17 – “Therefore, if any one is in Christ, he (or she) is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come.”We are new individuals in Christ - 2 Cor. 5:17 – “Therefore, if any one is in Christ, he (or she) is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come.” 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. – Romans 6:44 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. – Romans 6:4

All Things New We serve with a new motivation. We serve with a new motivation. 6 But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code. – Romans 7:66 But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code. – Romans 7:6

All Things New We are a new community in Christ. We are a new community in Christ. 6 Your boasting is not good. Don’t you know that a little yeast works through the whole batch of dough? 7 Get rid of the old yeast that you may be a new batch without yeast—as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. 8 Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old yeast, the yeast of malice and wickedness, but with bread without yeast, the bread of sincerity and truth. 1 Co 5:6-86 Your boasting is not good. 28 All Things New We are to live a new life.We are to live a new life. “Go, stand in the temple courts,” he said, “and tell the people the full message of this new life.” – Acts 5:20.“Go, stand in the temple courts,” he said, “and tell the people the full message of this new life.” – Acts 5:20.

All Things New We have a new destiny. Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
