4  We believe that God is eternal in His nature. From everlasting to everlasting. (Psa. 90:2)  He exists beyond and independently of the world which He created and sustains. (Gen. 1:1; Col. 1:15-17)  We believe that the world had a beginning. It was made at God’s command. (Gen. 1-2; Psa. 33:6-9)  The world will one day have an end. (2 Pet. 3:10-13)  Man is different from any other living creature. He is made in the image of God. (Gen. 1:26-27)  Man is of a dual nature, composed of flesh and spirit or body and soul (2 Cor. 4:16-18)  Being made in the image of God involves the spirit, because God is spirit (John 4:24; Acts 17:29; Heb. 12:9)  Man is accountable to God as his Creator and will have to give an account on that great day of how he has conducted his affairs on earth (2 Cor. 5:10) 9/4/20154
