24. Every genuine believer has received a spiritual gift, a highly specialized gift. He has received his gift to carry out the ministry of the Lord upon the earth. Jesus Christ gives us the grace to use our gifts.

25. II. All Believers’ Gift Cost The Highest Price Possible.

28. III. All Believers’ Gift is Christ-Centered. And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers… Ephesians 4:11 (ESV)

29. It is Christ and Christ alone who gives spiritual gifts to men. 1. The gift of an apostle. The word "apostle" means to send out. 2. The gift of a prophet. This is the gift of speaking under the inspiration of God's Spirit. It includes both prediction and proclamation.

30. 3. The gift of an evangelist. This is the gift of carrying the gospel all over the world. 4. The gift of a pastor. This word means shepherd. 5. The gift of a teacher. The function of the teacher is the gift to instruct believers in the truth of God and His Word.

31. IV. All Believers’ Gift(s) Have A Purpose.

Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. 13 This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. 14 Then we will no longer be immature like children.

33. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. 15 Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. 16 He makes the whole body fit together perfectly.
