4. The Jehovah’s Witnesses - - History The founder of the group, Charles Russell, was born in 1852 in Allegheny, PA. By age 17, he became convinced that the doctrine of a real, literal hell was a myth or fable. The next year, he wandered into a church during a sermon on the return of Christ. He became preoccupied with the time of Christ’s return, and wrote, “The Manner and Object of Christ’s Return.”

Following the Battle of Armageddon comes the 1,000 Millennial Kingdom on earth.
