5 Accomplishments (WHYDFML) --Kept Air Force from combining ANG aircraft maintenance into AF shops --Largest full time manning increase in 22 years --Increase in control grades for officers and senior enlisted grades --Pay raise above what DOD asked --Stopped DOD from increasing TRICARE fees and Rx co-pays --TRS premiums based on actual costs resulting in lower monthly rates --Waiver of co-pays for preventive health care services --Stopped Medicare payment reductions, having direct impact on TRICARE for Life --Stop Loss payments of $500 per month

6 Legislative Goals Legislative goals come from the membership through the resolutions process each year. We also work emerging issues of great importance without resolutions from membership, in conjunction with TMC

7 EANGUS Legislative Priorities for 2009 Earlier retirement eligibility retroactivity to 9/11 Lower VGLI insurance premiums Increase mental health resources for veterans Issuing war related equipment to units training for deployment Maintaining increased budget for military TRICARE for grey-area retirees at full premium Protected class status for military technicians 50 resolutions to work this year, plus emerging issues

8 Defense Authorization Pay raise of 3.9% Prohibited centralized asset management by AF of ANG assets Full budget for Air Sovereignty Alert missions Largest full time manning increase in 22 years Armed Forces members and veterans may salute during National Anthem Prohibits increases in TRICARE fees, co-pays, deductibles for 3 rd straight year Prohibits increases in TRICARE medication co-pays for 3 rd straight year TRS premiums recomputed and lowered based on actual costs Waiver of co-pays for preventive health services New tuition assistance program for military spouses Presumption of service connection for injuries not documented on enlistment

11 Membership Corporate Sponsorship USAA will no longer pay for any memberships in EANGUS. Since February 2007, almost 50,000 soldiers and airmen have joined EANGUS using the USAA benefit.

12 EANGUS Emergency Relief Fund EANGUS “We Care for America Foundation” 501(c)(3) charitable organization Emergency grants for financial hardship Over 400 grants have been approved since Katrina totaling over $300,000
