© Kolbenschmidt Pierburg 2008 Kolbenschmidt Pierburg GroupGuss fürs Auto 9 Combustion engine will dominate at least for the following years Market penetration of Diesel-engines will increase in the USA and will be consolidated in Europe. Gasoline-engines will remain on a high level of dominance worldwide. Both technologies will be affected by lower fuel availability. They will have to be adopted to new fuels as Gas (ex. CNG), Sun-Fuel, Syn-Fuel or even Hydrogen at a later stage. Especially in Europe the Gasoline-engine will challenge the Diesel-engine in the fields of Cost, Emission and Fun-to-Drive Future market trends in motor design Verbrauch
