Regenerative Drive

Regenerative Drive Hub-based motors serve as a means of regenerative drive and regenerative braking for re-charging on-board Lithium-ion batteries.  Electricity is generated at all times as the Track Spheres turn and are surrounded by an induction coil layer embedded in the Track Sphere Hub.  Two sets of hub coils are required  --one set for induction coil energy return and one set for electro-magnets to act directly on the Track Spheres.  All of the magnets are protected from wear by a) electro-magnets embedded in the track sphere's hub, and b) Spherical wheel core magnets covered by a rubber thread surface surrounding magnetic pods that make up the sphere's snap frames.  The two sets of coils do not interfere with the interactions of the magnetic fields.  Considering the eloquence, simplicity and functional advantages of Track Sphere – Spherical Induction Motor, this magnetic levitation is doing for modern ground transportation what Maglev has done for super fast magnetic trains!

Regenerative Drive.  The Track Sphere Assembly contains a Hub of electromagnets, each with its own coordinates .  To continuously hold and levitate the sphere, the hub is concave around most of the magnetic spherical wheel.  The lower 5 inches of the hub is expose in order for the spherical wheel to make contact with the ground.  The rubber-covered spherical wheel is composed of  core magnets with the outer sphere North designated and the inner sphere South designated.   Throughout the hub contains a horizontal layer of wire coils that serves to generate electricity as the sphere's core magnets spin by each coil.    The Delorean ATG’s weight is equally distributed across each of the Track Sphere assemblies, even though the vehicle's front track spheres are 21 inches in diameter and the rear ones are 24 inches.  This is primarily due to the original Delorean tire mounting configuration and vehicle front to back balance.  The vehicle's track spheres can be recharged by low cost main electricity plug-in from regular home or alternative locations while at rest.   This reduces any concern about battery capacity limits or how to recharge.  During vehicle operation when Lithium-ion battery levels would normally fall, the track sphere makes use of its competitive advantage -- its frictionless, free moving spherical wheel uses regenerative drive.  This enables sustained highway speeds and an overall top end speed target of 125 to135 mph.

AirShipTG’s Competitive Advantage
AirShipTG’s maglev spherical induction motor regenerates electricity allowing the vehicle to travel up to 400 miles on one full electric charge. This core competency reduces the cost footprint for electric refueling stations planned primarily for electric vehicles that only travel 40 to 80 miles on one full charge. Highways are currently dotted with gasoline fueling stations, but the highways of the future might be surrounded by alternative energy fueling stations . The first green highway may not even be that far away from reality, as Washington, Oregon, and California are mulling over a plan to outfit the Pacific Northwest's Interstate 5 with a series of alternative fuel stations from the Canadian Border all the way to Mexico. The vision is a revamped highway corridor with spots to swap or charge electric vehicle batteries, as well as stations for biodiesel, ethanol, hydrogen, and compressed natural gas refueling. Fueling stations and swap-out docks along the 1,382 mile "BC to Baja Green Highway" would be the first businesses allowed to operate at rest stops, and would not be charged rent until turning a profit.  If approved, the green highway project could begin soon -- just in time for the glut of lower performing electric cars that will hit the market in the next few years.

MARKETING ANALYSIS AirShipTG intends to enter the automotive hyper efficient drive train/vehicle propulsion market by inserting itself into the supply chain rather than competing against current vehicle (auto and truck) manufacturers/producers. This strategy allows AirShipTG to protect itself from fierce competition by not directly competing with automobile producers. This strategy allows manufacturers to re-brand the Spherical Induction Motor (SIM) Track Sphere wheel as their own. AirShipTG can enter the market without starting a product price war.

Track Sphere Steering Drive-by-wire typically removes the mechanical linkages between the controls of a car and the devices that do the work.   For the AirShip, the driver does not operate the track spheres and brakes manually, but electronic controls send commands from a central computer, which instructs the vehicle on what to do.  The advantage here is that the computer is able to make the track spheres and hubs, regenerative drive, regenerative braking, and air bearings work as one to give the car better handling.  This is especially important with bad road conditions in order to give efficient power consumption and to react to emergencies faster than a human driver.
