8 The Lisbon’s Strategy In march 2000 the European Council had a meeting to discuss about the problems of the Union. A new plan of action was established: the Lisbon’s Strategy The Lisbon’s Strategy main aim is to make of Europe the most competitive and dynamic knowledge-based economy in the world “The Lisbon strategy is even more urgent today as the growth gap with North America and Asia has widened, while Europe must meet the combined challenges of low population growth and ageing. Time is running out and there can be no room for complacency. Better implementation is needed to make up for lost time”. Mr. Wim Kok Next

9 ..as a consequence.. Europe is a more attractive place to invest and work Europe is a more attractive place to invest and work Knowledge and innovation are the beating heart of European growth Knowledge and innovation are the beating heart of European growth E.U. shapes the policies allowing businesses to create more and better jobs E.U. shapes the policies allowing businesses to create more and better jobs Today In 2005 the Lisbon’s Strategy was re-considered and revised. A lot of points appeared very difficult to reach so in many parts it was substantially restricted, but the European Union still doesn’t want to be passive in front of the globalization problems and wants to take a prominent key-position in the world But.. Retur n

10 There is a great dynamic business competition in the world market.. Why? Other countryes are having the upper hand in the world market. If the E.U. wants to survive, it has to face these countryes. In order to do this you must consider the point of force of these countryes and consider if it is possible for Europe to emulate them. So.. There are 2 prevalent sides to consider Countries riches of natural resources “Why are the Americans attacking countryes that are exporters of petroleum?” Countries with a low cost of manpower “Countries like China in which a lot of human rights are not held by factories” Chinese workers

11 What can we do? Every citizens should doing something to help Europe and ourselves grow up and improve We must understand that these strategyes our confederation is adopting are for our benefit. Should we work 10 ours a day as chinese people to survive in the world? The European Union wants us to become very civilized and skilled people to face the globalization problems We must try to approach the Lisbon’s Strategy -adopt technologies -learn foreign languages -care about international problems -don’t be obsolete -respect the environment -trying to be open-minded Retur n
