August 22, 2010 | Opening Blind Eyes

1. There are two main factors that keep us out of communication with God: either we do not hear or understand what he is saying, or we choose not to follow what he asks. Which of these keeps you out of touch with God more often?

2. Describe a time when you felt like God was speaking to you, asking you to do something or you felt strongly to take a step of faith. (Try to encourage everyone to participate on this one…. And this can be something as simple as choosing to volunteer at church or calling a friend/family member)

3. How often do you have leadings, feelings or proddings like those? 4. How do you make yourself available to hear God’s call? What are some common hindrances when you have tried to do this?

5. Once you hear what God is asking, do you find it easy or difficult to follow what you believe God is asking of you? Why? 6. How can we improve in our obedience?

7. What is the reaction of the Pharisees to this miracle? How were they blinded in their perception of what happened? 8. How are we like the Pharisees and how does that affect our faith?

9. I would encourage everyone to take time to meditate and think of what God is asking of you or challenging you to do this week. If you already know this I would challenge you to tell someone and then take steps of obedience! Make note of how God responds to your obedience and time spent with Him to share next week.
