21 Republic of Moldova Dr. Silvia Ghinculov gsilvia@lib.ase.md Consortium Electronic Resources for Moldova

22 Achievement Republic of Moldova Most academic libraries would like to have access to databases Springer Link. However, the cost of subscribing to this resource makes it inaccessible for the majority of scientific libraries of Moldova. The only library that had access to this resource was the Scientific Library of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova. The directorship of the Scientific Library of the Academy of Sciences and the Consortium REM, negotiated with representatives of SpringerLink a free access to databases SpringerLink for all members of the Library Consortium REM in 2014.

23 How it was done… The positive decision on free access to databases SpringerLink allowed to organize a training seminar for representatives of the consortium REM on June 16, 2014. The representative of Springer - Frans Lettenstrom - briefed members of the consortium, scientists, PhD students and master’s degree students of leading universities on the features of this databases (82 pers.). The workshop was a success and allowed the representatives of the scientific and library world of Moldova to get acquainted with high-quality licensed resources and to provide access to them. Republic of Moldova

24 Advice or Challenge The success of this event suggests the need to coordinate the activities of all members of the consortium and actively lobby at all levels: from government officials, heads of scientific and educational organizations, non-governmental organizations to licensed providers of resources and consumers of scientific information.
