Text: James Montgomery, 1771-1854 Setting: REGENT SQUARE Tune: Henry T. Smart, 1813-79 Angels from the Realms of Glory CW #80 Verses 1-4

Verse 1: Angels from the realms of glory, Wing your flight o'er all the earth; Once you sang creation's story; Now proclaim Messiah's birth: Come and worship, come and worship, Worship Christ, the newborn King.

Verse 2: Shepherds, in the fields abiding, Watching o'er your flocks by night, God with us is now residing-- Yonder shines the infant light. Come and worship, come and worship, Worship Christ, the newborn King.

Verse 3: Magi, leave your contemplations; Brighter visions beam afar. Seek the great desire of nations; You have seen the Savior's star. Come and worship, come and worship, Worship Christ, the newborn King.

Verse 4 (Please Rise): Saints before the altar bending, Watching long in hope and fear, Suddenly the Lord, descending, In his temple shall appear. Come and worship, come and worship, Worship Christ, the newborn King.

Opening Verses Pastor: In the name of the Father, who is the “Father of the heavenly lights,” and of the Son, who is the “Light of the world,” and of the Holy Spirit, who reveals that light to us through the gospel. All: Amen.

Opening Verses Pastor: Arise! Shine! Your light has come and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. All: The darkness of sin surrounds the earth. Nations upon nations are turning away from the Lord.

Confession of Sin All: For this I deserve your punishment both now and in eternity. But I am truly sorry for my sins, and trusting in my Savior Jesus Christ, I pray: Lord, have mercy on me, a sinner.

(Pastor announces our forgiveness) All: Savior, empower us; Spirit, enlighten us to represent you well!

Verse 1: As with gladness men of old Did the guiding star behold, As with joy they hailed its light, Leading onward, beaming bright, So, most gracious Lord, may we Evermore your followers be.

Verse 2: As with joyful steps they sped, Savior to your lowly bed, There to bend the knee before You whom heav'n and earth adore, So may we with willing feet Ever seek your mercy seat.
