Sustainability, Kayamuth in Hebrew, is implicit in the organization's name, and only with the cooperation of its partners worldwide can KKL-JNF carry out its vital work for Israel and its people. KKL-JNF continues to meet Israel's challenges while remaining true to the guiding principles determined at its inception in 1901. Since then, KKL-JNF has served as the executive arm of the World Zionist Organization, reclaiming and greening the land. KKL-JNF promotes sustainability in its forest and water management policies and through involving people in many facets of its work. KKL-JNF's vision of sustainability helps ensure that Israel's natural resources will be available for future generations. The vision extends to other regions of the world by sharing knowledge and know-how with those facing the challenges of dryland management and promoting food security in developing countries. Though diverse, KKL-JNF's spheres of action are interrelated, embracing the varied and many projects that are key factors in shaping Israel.
