2. All Year Groups Space Science News! Did you know… On Wednesday this week, Space Scientists hope to share with the world a landmark event in Space history – the world’s first ever mission to land a space probe on a comet. After 10 years journeying through the solar system, the European Space Agency (ESA) probe, Rosetta, will deploy its landing craft, Philae, to attempt the first ever soft-landing on a comet on Wednesday 12 November 2014 at 3pm (GMT). An exciting new initiative was launched last week. 20 young people will be offered a place of the Apprenticeship Programme with the Scottish Parliament over the next 2 years with 11 apprentices in 2015 and the remaining 9 in 2016. The programme is a Scotland wide initiative and is open to anyone aged between 16-24 years old. There is an Open Day on 21 st November.
