But in Africa, millions of children go hungry every day. Over 80% of people living in rural Africa rely on the crops they grow and the animals they keep to survive. Faced with frequent droughts, poor quality seeds and outbreaks of livestock diseases, this way of life can be a constant struggle.

The idea is really quite simple - this is your chance to get members of your community to pull their wellies on and have fun in the great outdoors, as well as help change the lives of African families for the better

Bring a pair of wellies to school on the last day of term: Friday October 26 th Pay a £1 donation – ALL OF THIS MONEY GOES TO THE FARMING AFRICA FUND Join your teachers and friends on the field to begin our walk to Africa!

5. House Tutor Time Activity Monday 15 th Oct – Friday 19 th Oct We are walking one mile! So that’s easy!! If 100 people each walk a single mile, your group has walked 100 welly miles! We then send off our total miles & money & the charity add these to all the other schools that have walked the mile...hoping they get a total of 5979 miles

6. House Tutor Time Activity Monday 15 th Oct – Friday 19 th Oct Alongside this we are running a competition for the best Welly Boot design! Use the template to come up with a unique welly. For every entry you gain 10 house points. There will then be a winner from each house picked who will be rewarded with vouchers and more house points
