Frigg’s son Balder was shot with an arrow( 箭 ) made of mistletoe. Frigga’s friends succeeded( 成功 ) in saving Balder’s life. For giving thanks to them, she made it a symbol of love by kissing everyone who passed under it.

So he climbed up on the roof and threw a bag of gold down chimney( 煙 囪 ). The bag of gold fell into a stocking( 長襪 ) that was hanging in front of the fireplace. This was how the story began.
