5. Week 10 - Digital Photography 5 What is a Digital Camera? A digital camera is a camera that takes video or still photographs digitally by recording images via an electronic image sensor. Many compact digital still cameras can record sound and moving video as well as still photographs.

6. Week 10 - Digital Photography 6 How does the camera store pictures? A digital camera contains a memory card. When you take a picture on your camera it will be stored on the memory card. Memory cards are available in different sizes. The bigger the memory card, the more pictures you can store.

8. Connecting your camera To connect your camera to your computer you need a USB lead. Put the USB lead into the camera and then put the other end into the USB port on the computer Demonstration Week 10 - Digital Photography8

10. I have no USB lead! Many people loose their USB leads and think their camera becomes obsolete. This is not the case, we can then use a memory card reader to connect to the computer. You place the memory card from the camera into the reader and then plug this into the USB port on the computer. Demonstration Week 10 - Digital Photography10

12. Transferring the images To find your images on the computer select my computer Your camera will appear as a “Removable Storage Device” or the name of your camera. Double click on this and you will see all your pictures. Week 10 - Digital Photography12

Transferring the images Select the pictures you want to copy to your computer To make multiple selection hold down the shift key and click on each photograph Then go to the edit menu and select copy Go to the N drive and double click on “my pictures” folder.
