17 Welcome new members using our FTP site Get them involved Myth: The Renewal form is Retention.  Reality: In most cases, members have already determined (consciously/unconsciously) if they will stay prior to receiving the renewal  Fact: The Renewal form is the last step in an effective retention campaign Involving New Members

18 Welcome New Members with:  Special newsletter, fax or broadcast e-mail that includes information a new member may not be aware of  New Member Welcome Kit  Send a special letter, e-mail or postcard welcoming new members  Personally invite them to events  Establish a welcome committee for every event  Follow-up with first-time attendees after the event

23 Involving Students  Fact: Less than 25% of students have ever been contacted by their Younger Member Group  Solution 1: Invite a Younger Member to a meeting (preferably an alumnus)  Solution 2: Join Younger Member Group activities, including K-12 outreach opportunities  Fact: Only 30% of students have attended a Section or Branch meeting.  Solution 1: Hold a joint Chapter- Section/Branch meeting  Solution 2: Hold your Section and Branch meeting on campus  Fact: Almost one-third of students don’t know their practitioner advisor (although 96% of those that do are very satisfied with them).  Solution: Find an active Practitioner Advisor, like recently graduated alumni
