Here's a little about me.. Born and raised in Houston and a 2002 Alumni of Stephen F. Austin High School. Currently attending the University of Houston. I am the 2 nd child out of 4 and the first in my family to attend college. My goals are to finish school and earn a good paying job.

Thoughts on Robotics  Reasons for choosing this subject were for the interesting facts I read on Artificial Intelligence.  Technology has changed a lot compared to how it was used in the past.  We now have scientists who are inventing robots to be human-like. Therefore having robots do tasks in a everyday lifestyle as would a human.

Created by: Magdalena Roman Artificial Intelligence (AI) In 1956, John McCarthy introduced artificial intelligence (AI) as the ability to mimic or duplicate functions of the human brain. Artificial Intelligence systems uses many sources to develop computer systems and machines that demonstrate the characteristics of intelligence. One field of AI includes robotics which is the development of mechanical or computer devices to perform human tasks.

Fall 2007 © Robotics Trivia Where did the word ‘robot’ come from? The term "robot" was first used in 1920 in a play called "R.U.R." Or "Rossum's universal robots" by the Czech writer Karel Capek. The plot was simple: man makes robot then robot kills man! Many movies that followed continued to show robots as harmful, menacing machines. The term 'robotics' refers to the study and use of robots. The term was coined and first used by the Russian- born American scientist and writer Isaac Asimov.

Evolution of Robotics Robots have had a big impact on this world and has reached different kinds of generations. The existence of robots has made work loads much more easier and safer for humans. For example, they are used by NASA to explore some parts of the universe. Robots have also made a big bang on the world of entertainment with cartoons and motion pictures.

Created by: Magdalena Roman Revolution of Technology  In 1986 Honda began the designing's of the first Humanoid Robots.  In 1997 Honda became the first to showcase the P3, the 8 th prototype in a humanoid design.  In 2000 Sony unveils humanoid robots, dubbed Sony Dream Robots (SDR), at Robodex.

Created by: Magdalena Roman How NASA uses Robots In 1970 professor Victor Scheinman designed the Standard Arm and is controlled by a minicomputer. It was later used in Viking 1 & 2 Space Probes. When the space probes landed they returned a wealth of long-term data on the Martian surface and atmosphere back to earth. Image Taken by Viking 1

Robots invade Hollywood! Robots became very popular for animated motion pictures.

Created by: Magdalena Roman Ability to Learn In this video the baby robot learns the ability to interact with objects. Baby Bot Learns Baby Bot Learns How to: –Grab Object –Observes object –Gives object to person

Manufacturing Machine Most vehicle industries are now starting to use robots to paint or place doors on the body of their manufactured vehicles. Shown in the pictures is a robot used by Chrysler to help place the doors more quickly.

Created by: Magdalena Roman Evolution of Dance Robots also introduced a new type of dance that many people find very outstanding.Robots also introduced a new type of dance that many people find very outstanding.
