6. How to Use a Water Bath Set the temperature of the water bath either with a dial control or a digital control. At the beginning of a lab or experiment, you should check the water bath to see if it is set at the right temperature and filled with water. Note: Water baths should be filled with distilled water. 14. Using a Centrifuge SOP Loading Samples 1. Obtain correct tubes for centrifuge you will be using and check size in centrifuge before filling tubes 2. Dispense samples into labeled tubes, cap securely, and insure tubes are in good condition 3. If needed fill water blanks into clean tubes for balancing. 15. Using a Centrifuge SOP Cont. 1 4. Inspect the centrifuge chamber prior to use to be sure it is free of any debris, dirt or leaks. Clean if needed. 5. 16. Using a Centrifuge SOP Cont. 2 7. Set time, temp. and speed to the desired settings prior to initiating the run. 8. Remain by centrifuge until set speed is reached.
