Hemophilia  A genetic disorder that affects your bloods ability to clot.

Symptoms  Patients with small lack of blood clotting might only have bleeding after trauma or surgery.  Patients with higher lack of blood clotting might have unpredictable or unexplainable bleeding like nosebleeds with no cause, unusual bruising or bleeding, blood in urine or stools, joint swelling, tightness or pain caused by internal bleeding and continuous bleeding after a cut or injury.

Famous people with it  Abraham Lincoln

Causes  Hemophilia is a genetic disease passed to children from parents who carry a defective gene. This gene comes from the mothers X chromosome. The father doesn’t pass Hemophilia, only mothers can.

Treatment  They treat Hemophilia by replacing the missing clotting factors.  Clotting factors- any substance in the blood that is essential to harden
