8 Types of Patches Private Release, minimal testing
Created just for the specific customer Not packaged, manual installation such as registry settings or SQL scripts to run HotFix – tested within the context of the problem. Roll-up of all previous HotFixes Packaged as an .exe May need to run SQL scripts or create a registry setting Service Pack– full regression test May need to run SQL scripts
