Job hunting in the electronic age - job hunting online. http://www.thevcf.comhttp://www.thevcf.com -> Job Link -> http://www.concentric.net/~Devries/joblink.htm http://www.concentric.net/~Devries/joblink.htm  Work At Home and Freelancing Opportunities  Job Boards  Resume Submission Facilities  Automatic Job Notification Services  Resume Banks  Jobs Newsgroups  Resume Newsgroups  Virtual Consulting

How to get a foot in the door these days.  The top Qualities that make a Good Virtual Consultant – Responsiveness – On time delivery of quality deliverables – Positive Attitude – Flexibility – Team Work – Professionalism  We have found in our experience in both the “corporate” and “virtual” environments that only about 20% of the people “hired” are actually “Good”! 

How to get from where you are … to where you want to be.  Figure out where you want to be  Set Goals for getting there  Develop a plan to meet your Goals  Just Do It!  One Step and One Day at a time  As long as you are making an effort and positive progress towards your goals you will (eventually) get there!

Are you just earning a living or … are you having fun too?  What motivates you to go to work each day? – Money? Would you do this work if they didn’t pay you for it? – Are you excited about doing today's tasks? – Something else? (mine used to be playing volleyball at lunch time! ;))  How fast / slow do your work days go?  How soon do you start thinking about when you get to leave?  If you are doing what you have to do and not what you want to do … Why?

Knowing when it's time to go.  Are you Happy?  Do you “dread” and/or “passively aggressively” resist going to work?  Are you sick more often than you used to be?  Do you feel better the moment you leave?  Are you able to be the person you truly want to be in your current job / environment?  If not … Why not? Life is Way Too Short to Lose another Day Not Being Happy! … And this choice is yours to make every day!

The Virtual vs. Traditional Economies and Job Markets  Whereas the current state of the traditional (“non-virtual”) economy and job markets seem to be continuing to spiral downward …  The Virtual Economy and Job Markets are Booming!  We currently have more opportunities for paying work, in numerous areas, than we can find good Virtual Consultants to complete, and … Plenty more where that came from!

Virtual Consulting and The Virtual Consulting Firm  What is the actual definition of a "Virtual Consultant"? --------------------- “con·sul·tant ( P ) Pronunciation Key (kn-sltnt) n. Created, simulated, or carried on by means of a computer or computer network: virtual conversations in a chatroom. --------------------- I guess a "Virtual Consultant" is anyone who gives "advice" by means of a computer and/or computer network! :) --------------------- Source: The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition Copyright © 2000 by Houghton Mifflin Company.
