3 Executive Summary – 2004-05 146 classes, serving 3900 enrollments 647 FTES approx. 8% of total FTES Increase of 300 enrollments from 2003-04 More faculty using distance learning technology (Blackboard to support F2F) DL user group Selection and board approval of LMS

4 TV and Online Telecourses  15 sections in Su2004  24 sections in Fa2004  27 sections in Sp2005 Online  7 sections in Su2004  33 sections in Fa2004  39 sections in Sp2005  1 section in Winter 2005 FTES  303 FTES online  344 FTES television (Fire science enrolls 700 students per year!)  647 FTES total

5 Television Trends Enrollment grew by 11 (Due to fire science course) TV courses are overall experiencing decreasing enrollment except for transfer classes such as –Psychology –Nutritional Science –Sociology –Economics

6 Online Trends Increase of 285 students or about 20% over previous year Increase number of sections offered over previous years Students request more transfer classes to be offered online

7 Key Projects – Faculty Course Pages Distance Learning Information Pages Over 69,466 hits in about a year By 11:00 AM today there were 58 hits Most DL faculty (Do not update their pages!)

12 Student Survey – Why students take DL classes Convenience and to fulfill requirements for AS degree Most live within 10 miles of campus Over 90% satisfied with quality Most 80% were not aware of services such as ordering textbooks online, or financial aid Most 80% said they had more interaction with classmates and instructors than in f2f class 96% of respondents were online students
