Pennsylvania’s Use of EVAAS/PVAAS Given the high-stakes usage, it was important to have a robust methodology that addressed common concerns of working with student testing data, such as: Students with missing data Student mobility Measurement error It was also important to use an approach that was flexible with regards to current and future testing. Models for both consecutive-grade given tests (like PSSA math and reading) and non-consecutive-grade given tests (like Keystone EOCs) Accommodates changing/evolving assessment system Changes in assessment due to alignment to PA Common Core Addition of new assessments, like the Keystone end-of-course exams

9. Pennsylvania’s Use of EVAAS/PVAAS However, PA wanted teachers to have more than just a score to use on a teacher’s evaluation form.
