4. Need to ensure effectiveness of homelift provision in terms of meeting the service users needs and to establish if their needs had changed since provision.

5.  Identify if users of homelifts, not currently receiving regular Occupational Therapy review, should be placed on a risk register.  Establish if the provision of a homelift increased the service users safety and independence.  To review the functional ability of service users to determine if they were safe to continue using their homelift.  To establish if the Trust is providing a quality service in the delivery of homelifts.

6.  Random sample of 49 service users across 4 geographical patches  Face to face interview with service user and/or their carer  Questionnaire completed by Occupational Therapist  Review assessment carried out re. ability to use lift  Outcomes collated by project lead with assistance of Audit Department

7.  The majority of service users who have been provided with a homelift are not placed at high risk through the absence of routine reviews. 98% remained safe in use of the lift.  Homelift provision has a very positive impact on service users safety and independence in their own home e.g 96% felt that the lift allowed them to remain in their own home. “ It has been life changing. Has taken pressure off wife” “Wife had to assist by lifting affected leg onto stairs and hold until other leg brought in line”

8.  NHSCT provides a very effective homelift service with high levels of user satisfaction “I know now I have freedom in my own home. Before the stairlift I filled a carrier bag in the morning with things I may have needed during the day as I was scared to attempt the stairs”

9. “not as tired and feel I can do more during the day” “Housework and cleaning – I don’t have to rely on family” “can go upstairs to use the toilet as previously had a commode in the lounge. Also had to sleep in an armchair as I couldn’t get up to bed”

Change to terms and conditions agreement form 5. Regular service user feedback surveys 6. PFA target being met – need to consider time frames of assessment process 7.
