10 Methods for Searching SPD
CANS-Recommended Services Report used only by DCFS workers with a DCFS client ID number Manual Report to select service types and features in a specified location Agency Report to see all the programs and/or locations of a specific agency Keyword Search to find information related to a specific topic or word (such as “Church” or “camp”)

11 CANS Recommended Services Report
The system will automatically generate a list of providers who offer needed services based on the child’s most recent CANS assessment and the child’s current address. This feature is for DCFS case workers only.

15 Manual Search: Generate Report
Click “Generate Report” when you are ready to see your Service Provider Match Report

16 If no options are displayed in the initial report, this may mean that you made too many specifications in your search. You can “back out” by clicking “back” and selecting only the zipcode, setting all other features to “all” to see what resources are available in the specified area. If you uncover a particular “shortage” (for instance, you notice that there are psychiatrists available in Rockford but when you specify “psychiatric evaluation” and “Medicaid” none show up) feel free to contact an SPD team member to let them know. It is in this way that you can help us use the tool to document gaps in service availability in your community. To use this report as a guide, click on “download a printable PDF” in the upper right corner, and you can print out the first few pages and call providers to follow up on availability. Often the report is very long, so make sure to specify the number of pages you’d like to print. All of the items in blue on the page can be clicked on for more information. If you click on the agency name (second column) you’ll access the agency report. If you click on the program name, you’ll obtain all of the details of the program (about fifteen pages) and if you click on the address you’ll access a map and directions. Let’s do that now. 16 16

This page displays the directions. At the top left you can specify whether you would prefer walking, driving, or public transportation (where available) directions. 17 17
