Ghost stories © 2015 albert-learning.com SOME ENCOUNTERS WITH THE GHOST Ghost made itself look like me :about an hour later my mom and jean had seen me in the reflection of the picture. Nothing out of the ordinary, as a child I would often stand by the fridge in the hallway and watch TV through the reflection of the picture. My mom had told me to go to bed, then went back to watching TV and talking with jean. About 5 minutes later, she still saw me standing there, so she got up to go down the hallway and told jean to go around through the other entrance to the kitchen so they could trap me and get me and send me to bed for sure for the night. There was no sign of me. They got to my room and they swear on it that I was asleep. Ghost showed itself to everyone :after we returned home, my mom said that she woke up one night to see a really tall man standing in the kitchen door (my parents room was right by the kitchen entrance) she thought it was lane so she just went back to sleep. Then she said she woke up a little later the same night and the man was still standing there.

Ghost stories © 2015 albert-learning.com Was My Imaginary Friend A Ghost?: Several months went by and we saw nothing, and so carried on with our lives as per usual, until the day that my sister came to me telling me that she'd experienced one of the "black figures" at the end of her bed, calling her name, in my voice. There was another case where in the second house, in town, my sister and I were talking to each other through the gap in each of the doors, across the hallway from each other. My father had told us to go to sleep, but we, being kids, refused. We continued whispering to each other through the gaps in the doors when suddenly a black figure walked from my father's door way into the hallway, which was right in front of my eyes, and then into the bathroom, which was directly opposite my father's bedroom. I looked at my sister and her eyes opened wider. She asked me if I saw it too.

Ghost stories © 2015 albert-learning.com FAMOUS HAUNTING The Tower of London: Of the famous that haunt the Tower, there are reports that the headless ghost of Anne Boleyn meanders the eerie corridors of the White Tower. She was one of two wives that were ordered for execution by husband, Henry VIII; the other being Catherine Howard. Anne is also spotted in the Chapel of Saint Peter ad Vincula where she watches over her own grave under the altar. Catherine on the other hand can be heard screaming behind the door of the room she was kept in before her execution.

Ghost stories © 2015 albert-learning.com Ghosts in the White House: David Burns, who was a large land owner and sold what the White House and much of Washington sits on now to the government. Both a guard and a White House seamstress reported hearing a haunting voice declare itself as “I'm Mr. Burns!” though he was not actually seen by either, more a disembodied voice generally heard from the vicinity of the Yellow Oval Room.

Ghost stories © 2015 albert-learning.com The Queen Mary Haunting: Of the numerous deaths, there was a young seaman by the name of John Henry who lied about his age to procure a position on the Queen Mary and was soon crushed to death while trying to flee a fire. To this day, knocks and bright lights can be heard around engine room 13 where the young man met his untimely death. It's even been reported that the door to the engine room is sometimes hot to the touch or that mixed in with a ball of light is tendrils of smoke.

Ghost stories © 2015 albert-learning.com In 1959, Mrs. Mabel Chinnery was visiting the grave of her mother in a British churchyard and took a photo of her husband, who was waiting alone in the car. When the film was developed, Mrs. Chinnery recognized the image of her mother in the backseat - the woman whose grave they had visited on that day. A photo expert examined it for a British newspaper and declared the photo to be authentic.

Ghost stories © 2015 albert-learning.com Taken in 1919, this picture is a group portrait of Sir Victor Goddard's squadron. In the back of Goddard, positioned on the top row, fourth from the left, can be seen the face of another man (shown in the zoom circle). It could be the face of Freddy Jackson, an air mechanic who had been accidentally killed by an airplane propeller two days earlier. This photograph was taken the day of his funeral, and members of the squadron easily recognized his face.

Ghost stories © 2015 albert-learning.com Sybell Corbet took this photograph of the Combermere Abbey library in 1891. The figure of a man can detected in the chair to the left. It is believed to be the ghost of Lord Combermere, a British cavalry commander in the early 1800s. Lord Combermere died in 1891, having been struck and killed by a horse-drawn carriage. At the time Sybell Corbet took the above photo, Combermere's funeral was taking place!
