2 Positive Wellbeing Group The Positive Wellbeing Group would like to focus on Resilience for the next 2 weeks in tutor time. We will give you 10 tips for Resilience. Hopefully the tips will get you thinking and have a positive impact on your future. Every day we will focus on one of the 10 letters in RESILIENCE. Resilience definition: Resilience describes a person’s capacity to cope with changes and challenges and to bounce back during difficult times. The more resilient someone is, the better they are at getting through tough times, and the better their chances at recovering from experiences of adversity and trauma. Today’s Top Tip! S trategies – Plan your coping strategies. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.

3 All Year Groups Britain is gearing up for a solar eclipse set to darken skies by up to 99% across parts of the UK on Friday morning (20 March). The eclipse this week will be the first witnessed in Britain this century and the next one is not until 2090. Shortly after 8am on Friday 20 March, the skies in UK will start to grow darker. Around an hour later, the majority of the sun's light will be shrouded by the moon, although the percentage of that will depend on where you are in Britain. Glasgow, 9.35am, 94% eclipse Viewers are advised to never look directly at the sun to avoid eye damage, but special glasses, telescopes or other viewing equipment can be bought in camera shops and online.

9 S3 Raising Awareness of Carbon Emissions Carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) is the primary greenhouse gas emitted through human activities. 9.9 billion metric tonnes of carbon dioxide was produced in 2013 The effect of all this extra carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is that the overall temperature of the planet is increasing (global warming). 1) Driving style - speeding and unnecessary acceleration reduce mileage by up to 33%, waste gas and money, and increase your carbon footprint. Ways to improve Carbon Emissions 2) Don’t fly on private jets - fly first or business class if you must, because at least those seats always fill up anyway, and avoid private jets 3) Lighting - turn off lights you’re not using and when you leave the room.
