What one thing should be established before any planning takes place for an event? Theme of the event; shower, party, family reunion or gathering (Even to the idea…ducks, daisies, Christmas, graduation…)
Describe three different types. A. Wedding shower B. Baby shower C. Birthday
2. Name five areas that need to be addressed when planning an event. a. guest list & invitations b. refreshments/food-servers c. games or entertainment d. decorations e. clean-up-committee
3.What kind of information should be included on an invitation? The theme, the honoree, date, time and place, hosts and phone numbers to contact hosts for directions or to rsvp.
4. What happens when too many helpers want to work in the same area? Work area becomes congested; other things don’t get done, too many differences of opinion made known
5. Why is it important to assign jobs or tasks? To avoid too much involvement in the decision making; to ensure that all parts of the event are taken care of with a plan; so that everyone that wants to can be included; things go smoothly.
6. Name things that prevent an event from being successful. a.Don’t wait to do things at the last minute b.Have adequate money to finance the event c.Have everything sorted out and organized d.Make sure things to do are scheduled to ensure that everything is ready on time e.Too many people in the kitchen f.Lack of preplanning for games and preparations g.Too loud because people wanted to be heard over others h.Leave in timely manner
