Above The Influence Drug/Alcohol awareness and prevention. Slide Show By: Michaela Massey

The Purpose  The purpose of this picture is to bring awareness to drug and alcohol abuse in young adults.  It’s an Above The Influence picture, which is an organization for Teens and Young adults to be themselves without the influence of drugs and alcohol.

The Audience  The Audience is focusing on young adults and teenagers. To help prevent more addictions to drugs and alcohol per year.

The Technique  The artist of this picture uses a dark grey back ground and in the center is a bright blue eye with the Above The Influence symbol as the pupil.  The bright blue gives emphasis to the symbol.  The eye itself could represent a gateway into the heart and intentions of the person.  To insure that you can be yourself without the cloudy vision of drugs and alcohol.

The Focal Point  The focal point, of course, is the eye.  It stands out against the grey background of the face and brings your attention straight to the Above The Influence symbol.

Ethos  This image appeals to the ethical values of not drinking at a young age as well as knowing what you stand for and your values.

Pathos  This appeals to emotions through the eyes of an ordinary human being. This image makes you feel sad and hopeful at the same time.  It’s sad because you feel sorry for the teenagers that drugs and alcohol have affected  But hopeful for the future generations who won’t be influenced.

Logos  This appeals to logic because it is not logical for teenagers and young adults (Or anyone for that matter) to become addicted to drugs and alcohol.  It can ruin your life in the blink of an eye, before it evens begins. Especially at a young age  30 percent of young adults from the ages of 12 to 17 experiment with illicit drugs and alcohol.
