2 ESCAPE-15, 31 May 2005 The European Marie Curie Programme for Research Training Networks Appointment of and provision of training to early stage researchers and their integration into the joint international project –Project should serve to provide a platform for training, transfer of knowledge, career development plan. –Researchers should be involved in research exchanges between participating teams –Structured training program developed by the consortium Courses, seminars, training in research management, exploitation of results Supervision by experienced researchers Training in multidisciplinary and/or intersectorial context Freedom to decide about the field of research 100% EC Financial Contribution for all partners

7 ESCAPE-15, 31 May 2005 PRISM: A European RTN in PSE/CAPE The overall network scientific objective is to develop a fully integrated model-based technology for process simulation, advanced process control, on-line optimisation, process design and synthesis, operator training and process monitoring –Emphasis on complex non-traditional processing systems (hybrid separations, etc) –Recent advances in modelling, optimisation, design and control. –Effective collaboration between academia and SMEs/industries

9 ESCAPE-15, 31 May 2005 PRISM: Training programme The training objectives are to broaden the scientific and technical background of Early Stage and Experienced Researchers in the area of process systems engineering –Training-through-research under the supervision of experienced researchers –Individual training (e.g. advanced postgraduate courses) –Network-wide training (workshops, summer schools, etc) –Training courses (e.g. tutoring, lecture courses, teaching) –Complementary training (communication skills, IPR, project management, language courses, etc). –Active participation and organisation of conferences. –Well structured research exchange scheme
