3. About Pixar Pixar is famous all around the world for its CGI animation They are making films with program RenderMan. It’s their own product but they are selling it to another companies (price is around 3.500$) It’s usually used for creating special effects in movies (Wolwerine, Golden Compass, Lord of the rings, Beowulf, Star wars….) They made 10 feature films so far Their seat is in Emeryville, California, USA

4. The Beginning It all started in 1979 when John Lasseter left Disney and joined a special-effects computer team at Lucasfilm Ltd. In 1986, the computer graphic division was purchased by Steve Jobs for 10 milion $ and became an independent company named “Pixar”. At that time pixar had about 45 employees. They invented Pixar Image Computer but it never sold well. There were threats that company will go out of business, so they started to do commercials fot outside comapnies. They made 71 commercials, first of all was named “Wake up” and it was made for Tropicana. In 1991 Pixar made 26$ million worth contract with Disney studios. It was a 10-year 3-picture deal. A frist movie they worked on was named Toy Story. It was a first fully- animated feature film.

5. Working with Disney After a huge sucess of Toy story in 1995, pixar released another 3D movie named Bug’s Life in 1998. It was No.1 in 6 international markets and made 362 million $ worldwide. Beetween years 1995 and 1998 they spend their time on advancing skills such as animating skin and cloth Disney and Pixar had disagreements after the production of Toy Story 2. Eventually they continued working togetgher. Pixar was responsible for creation and produciton, while Disney handled marketing and distribution. Profits were split 50/50 In 2001 the number of employees reaches over 600. Monsters Inc. Makes over 100$ million in 9 days faster than any other animated film in history. In 2003 movie Finding Nemo was released.It was one of the best selling DVD’s worldwide. The number reached over 40 million copies. In 2004 they animated The Incredibles and in 2006 The cars. In year 2006 Disney bought Pixar for 7.4 billion $
