2 Overview of “Lollipop” Android 5.0, latest upgrade for Android OS Successor to Android 4.4 (“KitKat”) Made for smartphones, tablets, watches, TVs, and cars Now available for Nexus 4, 5, 7, 10, and Google Play edition devices, Nexus 6 smartphone, Nexus 9 tablet Available for other devices as manufacturers fine-tune it to their liking

3 What Is New? User interface: more intuitive, consistent between devices, animations, new fonts and icons Consolidation of notifications Power saver Tracking time to charge and discharge battery Device Sharing Smart Lock Network handoff Pairing with smart watches and cars

4 Notifications Customize which notifications—email, texts, instant messages, calls, etc.—are displayed Select amount of detail for privacy reasons Notifications may be displayed when screen is locked Respond to notifications from the lockscreen Prioritize which notifications are displayed depending on time of day Less intrusive: Not filling the entire screen

5 Device Sharing Make calls, access messages, access photos and other data by logging into another Android phone running Lollipop Guest user mode for friends Multiple profiles for increased data privacy Screen pinning for a single app so a friend cannot access other apps or your data
