 Main Passages: Jonah 1:1-3; Matthew 6:9-13; 1 Kings 8:22-53, Matthew 28:19  Referenced Article: “Two Forces” by Jonathan Lewis “Let the Nations Be Glad” by John Piper  Questions to be answered: What are the God’s will found in the Lord’s prayer? What are two forces of God’s glory? What are the meanings of the “seven sent of God” found in the story of Jonah?

 Lord's Prayer(Mat 6:9-13). It is a ___________ and most universal prayer. It reveals what’s in the heart of Jesus; fulfilling the ancient purpose of making God’s name known.  It has dual directions of the glory of God: God __________- “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,” (worship) God __________ - “10 your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” (Revival, transformation, and change)

 God ____________ in revealing Himself and in receiving worship from all nations in all times, and in all places but he promised to bless those who come to temple, a holy place.  The __________ was destined to become a place of worship in order to set apart His holy people and to remind them His holy promise.

 There is also found throughout the Bible the inward-bound dynamic, which Lewis calls the attractive force. Others have called this the centripetal force of missions, or a “__________” structure of mission – worship.

 Why mission exist? “Mission exist because __________ does n’t; therefore, worship is the ultimate goal of the church.”  Then what is the relationship between worship and mission? “Therefore worship is fuel and goal of ______________.” The goal of mission is the gladness of peoples in the greatness of God, the worship.

 It might appear that Israel was only to play a passive role, attracting the nations to God’s worship, but look again at the biblical record to see the steady, relentless plan of God—both ___________ His people to the nations to declare the truth of His name, as well as attracting the nations to join His people in worship.

 Found throughout the story of Scripture is the outward-bound dynamic, which Lewis calls the expansive force. And others have called this the centrifugal force of missions, or a “________” structure of mission. (Matthew 28:19-20)

What did God do for His glory at each of the successive points of the story?

 Jonah is one of several people in the Old Testament that ____________ sent beyond the borders of Israel to deliver His Proclamation.  God sent because He __________ all nations. (Jonah 4:10-11) God sent Jonah to Nineveh, the Gentiles (Jonah 1:2) God sent a great storm to wake Jonah (Jonah 1:4) God sent a great fish to put Jonah to death (Jonah 1:17) God sent Jonah back to Nineveh again (Jonah 3:1-2) God sent revival in the hearts of people of Nineveh (Jonah 3:3-10) God sent a resentment in the hear t of Jonah. (Jonah 4:1-3) God sent a small worm to destroy the self -centeredness of Jonah. (Jonah 4:6-7)

 God is God of ________________. Matthew 28:19 “19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,~”  God is God of ________________. 1 Kings 8:29 “May your eyes be open toward this temple night and day, this place of which you said, 'My Name shall be there,' so that you will hear the prayer your servant prays toward this place.”  God is God of __________________. Jonah 4:11 “11 But Nineveh has more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left, and many cattle as well. Should I not be concerned about that great city?“
