TOM TORLAKSON State Superintendent of Public Instruction English Language Development Supplemental Instructional Materials Review 15 To provide schools districts with resources that can help them bridge the gap in their existing adopted ELD instructional materials and the new California ELD standards. The ELD SIMR will develop a list of SBE-approved ELD supplemental instructional materials for K-8. Districts may use any and all flexible funding (including funding for textbooks-formerly IMFRP), Prop 20 lottery funds, unrestricted general funds, and potentially various federal funds. The ELD SIMR process Is not a formal adoption, the review is informational only, schools districts do not have to buy these materials.
