2 Gymnastics INTRODUCTION Gymnastics is a fantastic sport that many people around the world play. This fantastic sport has travelled through history and made many stars. This fantastic slide show will tell you “all you need to know about gymnastics!

3 History It all started in Ancient Greece. They had gymnasiums all over the place! In fact, every city had one! In 1700, the first school opened. It was started by Frederic John, a German, but the first club was in the US in the 1850’s. soon Europe had a club too. Unlike normal gymnastics, there are no tumbles in rhythmic gymnastics. The sport became so popular that in 1984 Rhythmic Gymnastics became an Olympic sport.

5 Events Floor, bar, pommel horse, rings, high bar, parallel bar, uneven bars, vault & balance beam. These are all the events there are in gymnastics.
