When managed properly, fishing is a renewable resource.
Ocean fishing is Canada’s oldest industry (dates back to early 1500s)
More than 80% of our fish are exported

12. Aquaculture is the breeding and growing of fish in controlled spaces.
Also known as fish farming.
Found on both East and West coasts
In Canada, farmed salmon outnumber wild salmon 10:1 (so most of the salmon you eat is probably farm raised- check the labels to find out!)
