3 WARM-UP  Write about a time when you did a heroic deed (or a big favor for someone). What was it? Why did you do it? How did you feel?  Write a paragraph about your experience. These will be graded for completion and collected. Make sure you have at least 3 lines and 4 sentences. Check your papers for run-on sentences! (3 minutes)

7 ALLITERATION  What is alliteration?  Alliteration: repetition of consonant sounds next to or near one another (the path was plain ll. 226)  Helped to make the story more compelling  Can you find alliteration in 285-304? List them on white boards with line numbers. Note: I found 9!!

8 KENNINGS  As you find kennings, write them on your white board for the rest of the class! We will go over them at the end!
