2 Summary  For many of us, the last thing we do before going to bed is to plug in and charge the smartphone.  There are occasions, though, when fatigue gets the better of you and this important task gets forgotten until all the lights are out.  That's where the USB Micro Light charging cable comes into the picture. 3 What Is It? The USB Micro Light charging cable is being offered in two different lengths – 3 feet (0.91 meters) and 6 feet (1.82 meters). At one end is a full-size Type A USB connector that plugs into the charger and at the other, a micro-USB Type B connector with a forward-facing white built-in LED. The light is powered on by pressing a button on the top of the connector's outer shell. USB Charging Cablewith Built In LED Light-Burke 3

4 Is This Available? This simple but useful concept is not yet available, however. Its creator, Dustin Orndorff from Winchester (VA), has hit the pages of Kickstarter to bring his idea to market. The early bird specials have all been snapped up by eager after- dark gadget users, so anyone wanting to secure a 3 ft USB Micro Light charging cable will have to stump up at least US$14, while the 6 ft version will require a pledge of $16. 5 RISKS  The potential challenges we foresee are production, supply and quality control delays.  A lot of time has gone into the circuitry. More time has gone into the design and method to turn on the light.  After discussing with manufacturers how to inject the plastic over the circuitry, we are confident we will see light at the end of the tunnel. And that light will be controlled by a push button that has also been coated in plastic USB Charging Cablewith Built In LED Light-Burke 5

6 CONCEPT The concept is straight forward. It's a micro USB cable with a light. The implementation is a little more tricky. Why? The connector contains 5 wires, a populated circuit board, a button, light and micro USB connector. We have to populate the board in a way that does not short circuit the light with 1 of the 5 cable within the connector. We have an estimated timeline how long the vendors plan to have the molds made, circuit boards assembled, and the complete cable molded and assembled. By passing these tasks off to professional manufacturers we foresee these tasks running smoothly. This is a new project never been done before, so that means we could run into over-molding issues, and might be required to redesign the circuit board, or plastics USB Charging Cablewith Built In LED Light-Burke 6

7 CONCEPT (continued) We did an IP search and foresee everything running smoothly. We even filed for a utility patent for this product. We obtained a quote from a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory. This means we will take the finished product and send it in for testing. These tests ensure household safety. If for some reason they have an issue with the cable, coating, circuit board, circuitry, button, or connector then we would have to go back and revise the flaw to ensure a safe product. Safety is important. Through high quality control we strive to eliminate defective devices, and ensure standards are met. USB Charging Cablewith Built In LED Light-Burke 7
