2 OGS National Oceanographic Data Centre/IOC 148 millions The OGS-NODC oceanographic database includes 148 millions of measures of physical and biogeochemical parameters collected in the Mediterranean sea since the beginning of the century. Data and meta-data are archived on a Oracle relational DB and validated according to UNESCO/IOC and ICES standards. All meta-data are public while access to data follows a Data Policy. OGS-NODC Web Portal The OGS-NODC Web Portal gives access to all available information:http://nodc.ogs.trieste.it/

14 Data Quality Control: QC0 – Check of the format: completeness of information; QC1 - Check of the header: date and position, duplicates; QC2 – Check of the parameter: automatic & with data point visualization: broad range check (min and max limits), statistical check (reference climatology), check for spikes, vertical stability check. Flag scale values proportional to the level of error: 0 – No QC 1 – correct value 2 - value inconsistent with climatology 3 - dubious value 4 – false value 5 - modified value (for QC1 only)

17 Meteorological, physical, bio-geo-chemical and biological data collected in the Gulf of Trieste since 1990 are available under request. Biological data are coded following the guidelines of NODC and the meteo-marine data classification is in agreement with WMO code.
