2 Three Regions New England: Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. Middle Colonies: New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. Southern Colonies: Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.

3 Thomas Jefferson was the principal of the Declaration of Independence. Thomas Jefferson was also the 3 rd President of the United States and the 2 nd Vice President of the United States. James Madison was the 4 th President of the United States, 5 th Secretary of the United States, and he became leader in the new House of Representative s. Benjamin Franklin was the United States Minister to France, Benjamin was the 1 st United States Postmaster General and was the speaker of Pennsylvania. George Washington was the 1 st president of the United States and was the Commander-in Chief of the Continental Army.

4 What made each socioeconomic region unique New England: Ocean, Fishing, Whaling, Trapping, Shipbuilding and, Logging Middle Colonies: Numerous kinds of crops, Grains, Oats, Papermaking, Textiles, Production and, Barley Southern Colonies: Farming, Rice, Tobacco, Sugarcane and, Cotton

8 Houses looked very small. They had bushes and flowers all around. Most furniture was brown and white.

9 Clothing Many people wore hats, thin fabric and, knee high socks.

10 Education was accessible to those who could afford it. People would practice letters on slate boards, reading 18 th century children's books and, assembling educational puzzles.
