2.  Influenza is generally a mild to moderate illness  Caused by the influenza virus  The disease has been around for as long as human civilization  Cough and tiredness can last for weeks  Fever in beginning between 102˚F and 106˚F  It is also known as the “flu”

3. There are many different types of the flu which means many different symptoms…  Scratchy throat  Fever  Headache  Body aches  Weakness  Coughing  Tiredness

4. It is mostly a respiratory disease Can be spread by inhaling disease Can get the flu by touching something with the virus on it and then touching your mouth or nose

5.  Current research tells us that there are different vaccines to cure influenza  Regular flu shot for ages 6 months and up  High-dose flu shot for ages 65 years and up  Intradermal flu shot for ages 18-64  Scientists and doctors recommend washing your hands often  Best to stay germ free during “flu season”  Flu season is usually from January-March

Mostly children and under 6 months and kids 6 months to 5 year can catch the flu easily Their immune system is not fully developed yet which means it’s easier to get a virus in their system Senior citizens ages 65 and up also can catch influenza easily because their immune system is getting weaker It is still common that everyone gets the flu sometime in their childhood
