6 Deserts Cover 1/5 of Earth’s surface Rainfall is less than 20 inches per year types of deserts 1. hot and dry ▫Ex: Sahara desert 2. cold ▫Ex: Gobi desert Not much life ▫Mostly reptiles and shrubs

7 Tundra Coldest of all biomes Average winter temperature -30 °F Average summer temperature 45°F Diverse plants ▫Shrubs, 400 types of flowers, etc Diverse animals ▫Arctic foxes, polar bears, birds, insects, salmon, and more Types include arctic and alpine (mountainous)
