6 How is Molly different from Ecstasy? Ecstasy is frequently combined with other, potentially more dangerous drugs — including speed, ketamine, or even LSD Molly is a fairly recent rebranding effort that is said to contain pure MDMA.

12 How is Molly used? Molly is often ingested in a powder or tablet /capsule form, and is available illegally for $30 to $50 a dose.

14 How does it work in the brain? Increases the activity of three neurotransmitters ; serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine. Causes neurotransmitters to be released from their storage sites in neurons -> increased neurotransmitter activity. However, by releasing large amounts of serotonin, Molly causes the brain to become significantly depleted of this important neurotransmitter.
