Victory in Jesus Words and Music by Eugene Monroe Bartlett Sr, 1939 Hymnal page 82

2 I heard an old, old story, how a Savior
came from glory, How He gave His life on Calvary to save a wretch like me;

3 His groaning, of His precious blood's atoning, Then I repented
I heard about His groaning, of His precious blood's atoning, Then I repented of my sins; and won the victory.

4 O victory in Jesus, My Savior, forever! He sought me
and bought me with His redeeming blood;

5 I knew Him, and all my love
He loved me ere I knew Him, and all my love is due Him, He plunged me to victory, beneath the cleansing flood.

6 cleansing power revealing. How He made
I heard about His healing, of His cleansing power revealing. How He made the lame to walk again and caused the blind to see;

7 "Dear Jesus, come and heal my broken spirit," And somehow Jesus
And then I cried, "Dear Jesus, come and heal my broken spirit," And somehow Jesus came and brought to me the victory.

8 O victory in Jesus, my Savior, forever. He sought me
and bought me with His redeeming blood;

9 I knew Him, and all my love
He loved me ere I knew Him, and all my love is due Him, He plunged me to victory, beneath the cleansing flood.

10 I heard about a mansion He has built for
me in glory, And I heard about the streets of gold beyond the crystal sea;

11 About the angels singing and the old
redemption story, And some sweet day I'll sing up there the song of victory.

12 O victory in Jesus, My Savior, forever! He sought me
and bought me with His redeeming blood;

13 I knew Him, and all my love
He loved me ere I knew Him, and all my love is due Him, He plunged me to victory, Beneath the cleansing flood.

15 Philippians 4:4-7 4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

16 "We fret because we forget!"

18 We gather together Theodore Baker, 1894 Hymnal page 387

19 We gather together to ask the Lord’s blessing; He chastens and hastens
His will to make known. The wicked oppressing now cease from distressing. Sing praises to His Name; He forgets not His own.

20 our God with us joining, Ordaining, maintaining
Beside us to guide us, our God with us joining, Ordaining, maintaining His kingdom divine; So from the beginning the fight we were winning; Thou, Lord, was at our side, all glory be Thine.

21 escape tribulation; Thy name be ever praised!
We all do extol Thee, Thou leader triumphant, And pray that Thou still our defender will be. Let Thy congregation escape tribulation; Thy name be ever praised! O Lord, make us free!

23 COME, YE THANKFUL PEOPLE, COME
Hymnal number 392

24 Ere the winter storms begin: God, our Maker, doth provide
Come, ye thankful people, come, raise the song of harvest home; All is safely gathered in, Ere the winter storms begin: God, our Maker, doth provide For our wants to be supplied; Come to God’s own temple, come, Raise the song of harvest home.

25 All the world is God’s own field,
Fruit unto His praise to yield; Wheat and tares together sown Unto joy or sorrow grown. First the blade and then the ear, then the full corn shall appear; Lord of harvest, grant that we Wholesome grain and pure may be.

26 For the Lord our God shall come,
and shall take His harvest home; From His field shall in that day all offenses purge away, Give His angels charge at last in the fire the tares to cast; But the fruitful ears to store in His garner evermore.

27 Even so, Lord, quickly come,
To Thy final harvest home; Gather Thou Thy people in, free from sorrow, free from sin, There, forever purified, in Thy presence to abide; Come, with all Thine angels come, raise the glorious harvest home.
