PETERSBURG Bulgaria and the International Maritime Regulatory Regime  Republic of Bulgaria is party to UNCLOS,  Ratification of IMO conventions – Republic of Bulgaria is party to 23 IMO Conventions (this number does not include the ratifications of the amendments to number of conventions)  Ratification of ILO conventions – Republic of Bulgaria ratified 29 ILO maritime conventions, including MLC-2006. Currently Bulgaria is party to 19 conventions and 1 protocol  Application of the international labour legislation - positive evaluations given in the reports of the Expert Committee on the implementation of conventions and recommendations and of the Committee on implementation of the standards of the ILO  Role of the tripartism

PETERSBURG Maritime Lebour Convention 2006  an international regulatory response of an appropriate kind  global standards applicable to the entire industry  a more effective enforcement and compliance system that would help to eliminate substandard ships  would work within the well-established international system for enforcement of the international standards for ship safety and security and environmental protection that have been adopted by the International Maritime Organization.
