ICCA PRICE COMPARISON SURVEY 2005

HISTORY First survey late 90’s and decided to be handled every 2 Years Last one was made in 2003 Proposed in Cape Town ICCA GA 2004 to be handled for 2005 Cost was ranging on an average of 60€ per Centre, and decided to be free of charge in 2005

SOME COMMENTS The Working Committee : The committee consisted of: Anton Vliegenthart, De Doelen, Rotterdam Francois d’Heilly CNIT, Paris Expo, Paris Yanice Yee, Singex Venues Pte Ltd, Singapore James Rees, ExCel, London Karen Smith, Dubai International Convention Centre, Dubai Elisabeth Bugge, ICCA Head Office, Amsterdam We thank them very warmly

The « reason why » of such a survey Necessity in a not yet very structured market to have some ideas of benchmarking Be secured by confidentiality as only participating ICCA Cat G members receive the results, Each centre can make it’s own comparison with their supposed competitors, in their country or within their continent or worldwide

The general participation 180 Centres were approached, 76 did participate representing about 46% of the population, Somehow disappointing, however not much lower than the other years, Despite a more « userfriendly » programme run by Elisabeth

Which centers took part EUROPE54 MIDDLE EAST2 ASIA8 OCEANY2 AFRICA2 AMERICAS8

METHODOLOGY Previously One or two case studies referring to congresses of 600 and/or 1500 with a complete profile, plus questions on specific items. Due to many cases of misinterpretations and complecities this method has been cancelled Presently More detailed questions on specific items in order to avoid misunderstandments and on commercial policy.
