7 SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH ACTIVITIES The main areas of concern: -Study of the structureof gas flames; -Study of the problems of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) for creating new and improvedtraditionally produced materials; - The synthesis of high-conductive ceramic material; -Research of regularities of the composite ceramics based on carbides, silicide, borides of transition metals under conditions of SHS; - Development of nanotechnology and obtaining carbon nanostructured multifunctional materials (sorbents for water purification from heavy and radioactive metals, etc.); -Study the extraction and processing of oil and gas using the principles of the combustion process; - Development of materials with desired physical and chemical properties on the new high-performance technologies; - Development of energy-intensive and environmentally friendly technologies; - Mathematical modeling of combustion processes; -Plasma chemistry.
