3 Extracurricular Activities n Yearbook Staff –Middle School Cover Art Design –High School YB Staff n Won an award for selling the most business ads for the back of my H.S. yearbook n Yearbook Advisor –Completed 160 page school book

4 Winter Recess & Spring Break n USA & Foreign Travel –Visiting city museums, galleries and art exhibits n Ringling Museum/Cá Da’Zan n Salvador Dali in St. Pete n Philadelphia Museum of Art n Moma and The Met in New York City –Museum of Modern Art and The Metropolitan n Paris, France n Venice, Florence and Rome, Italy

5 Summer Vacations n Art Camp –USDAN, Long Island, NY n Creative and Performing Art Camp –Belvoir Terrace, Lenox, MA n A Fine and Performing Arts Camp for Girls n Internships –Got to test the waters to see if I enjoyed working in the Graphic Design field

6 Visual Learning n Graphic Design, Computer Art, Digital Photography, Museum visits, Art Camp and Internships gave me a visual understanding of the world in which we live and an appreciation for different types of art, color and space. n It also helped me see if I liked my chosen career.

7 Favorite Job Parts n I enjoy the variety of projects and people that I get to meet. n I’m not sitting at a desk all day. n I work on top of the line computers. n I get to use the latest software. n I am constantly learning in order to stay up to date and current.

8 Two Jobs n Art Teacher / Computer Teacher –Teach students of all ages about Computer Graphics and Graphic Design. n Freelance Consultant –Design newsletters, take digital photos, create websites, make video games, movie special effects, and animation.

9 Job Training n Electives taken in Elementary School, Middle School and High School. n College and Graduate School that was specific to my chosen career. n On-the-Job Training. n Seminars, expos, reading, watching movies and asking a lot of questions.

10 The Hardest Part n Staying current and up-to-date with constantly changing technology. n Learning new software and hardware. n Staying one step ahead of my students, and coming up with exciting lesson plans. n Moving from job to job. –Not a lot of stability.

11 When did I know? n I asked my parents that question once; and they replied that I made up my mind when I was 5 years old. –I have always loved color, space and light. –I have always loved taking photos and making pictures. –I am a visual person. –I enjoy variety and learning.

12 In Conclusion n Being a Graphic Designer and a Computer Artist is a fun and exciting way to help make the world more colorful and more beautiful. n The projects that you get to work on are glamorous projects that a lot of people see.
