2 GENERAL INFORMATION The purpose of this championship is to serve as the National Championship & final selection or trails for the Children, Cadets, Junior, Seniors and Veterans that will represent South Africa at the 2014, WKF KARATE1 WORLD CUP, that will be hosted by South Africa in Durban and all 2014 teams for WKF Youth Cup, Seniors Zone 6, UFAK and WKF Senior Championships Each province is allowed to enter only 4 (four) athletes in any of the divisions. This is the National events and selection, provinces are requested to ensure that athletes who have the potentials to be selected in the National Team be entered. Athletes must be preferably be Brown & Black Belts Entry Fees:R150.00 per category individual participant, R300.00 Per Unison Team Kata, Spectators: Adult : R40.00 and Children R20.00. Closing date for entries: 24 January 2014. Entries have to be entered online by Provinces. A hard copy must be e-mail to the Championship Director Sensei Leonardo Ciutto e-mail: LCiutto@finlam.co.za before the closing date. LCiutto@finlam.co.za SET online website: https://www.sportdata.org/karate/set-onlinehttps://www.sportdata.org/karate/set-online Age of athletes will be calculated as the age on 5 th November 2014 (for all International events 2014) Weigh-in: Spot check will be done to all participating athletes and athletes found to be outside their weight category will be disqualified. Starting Date: Friday 31 January 2014 @ 9am – Junior’s, U21’s, Seniors Team Kata Male & Female. Veterans & Masters Kata Male & Female followed by the Kata then Kumite events. Opening, March-on Saturday 01 February 2014 at 08:30. Commences @ 9am with Cadets and Children team events followed by Kata then Kumite. Disabled categories will be immediately after the Unison events - participation. Children – Seniors Team Kata events, a maximum of 2 teams per Province All athletes must submit doctors medical fitness certificate before they can be allowed to participate. This is the Official National Event and only registered members on SAMS - www.sportadmin.co.zawww.sportadmin.co.za Dojo affiliation (2014) must be paid into KSA Bank Account from All Provinces may enter.

3 GENERAL CHAMPIONSHIP RULES 1.Athletes take part at their own risk. No claim may be made against KSA – WKF or any of the officials officiating on the day of the championship. 2.No late entries will be accepted, provinces must confirm with the Tournament Director prior the closing date to ensure that entries has been received. 3.It is the responsibility of every Provincial Coach to explain the conditions/ rules to each athlete and or parent before entering the championship. 4.Any athlete entered in an incorrect age or weight will be disqualified. Coaches and Team Managers must ensure that correct information is submitted. 5.Any athlete not reporting to his/her floor after 3-call out will be disqualified. 6.WKF rules will apply during the championship. Athletes must use WKF Approved Protective gear. Breast protectors and body protectors are compulsory for female & Male competitors.  Coaches: 1.Only the appointed coaches from each provinces may coach an athlete from his/ her province. 2.Only coaches wearing their full provincial tracksuit will be allowed to coach. Those wearing only tracksuit top or trouser/ Protea track suit wont be allowed on the floor. 3.WKF rules on coaching must be strictly adhered to and non compliance to the rule and regulation disciplinary steps may be taken. Team Managers: 1.Team Managers must wear their official Provincial Attire (Navy blue blazer, white shirt, tie, gray pants, black shoes & socks) 2.Team Managers are not allowed in competition area

4 GENERAL CHAMPIONSHIP RULES Referees and Judged: All officials must be dressed appropriately as per WKF rules, including table officials. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: It is requested that all athletes must bring along the following: Passport Document Two (2) Passport photos Medical Fitness Certificate Consent letter from parent/ Guardian Indemnity form
